Man Facing Three Charges in Maryland Case
Ernest Wilson Evely, 39, held in Carrol County jail on false pretense larceny and automobile theft charges. State Police say Buckley of Mt Airy spotted Evely at the Condon Speedway races near Eldersburg last Friday and helped detain him until police arrived. The case traces to January 2 when Buckley reported a false pretense tied to a Case Construction Co project. Evely allegedly disappeared with tools. A later report claims Evely stole an electric drill from Charles Horton. Evely’s 1952 Desoto with South Carolina plates was found to be stolen in Atlanta on August 1. FBI likely to join as a fugitive from Georgia. Maryland State Police and investigators continue.
