Harmonious U N Session Approved Swift Action Plan
The U N Political Committee endorsed rapid General Assembly action against aggression and placed Russia and Czechoslovakia on a peace observation commission. The 14 member panel includes the United States, France, Britain, China, India and others. John Foster Dulles called the move historic saying it strengthens UN readiness to observe and act despite Security Council vetoes. The plan would allow the General Assembly to convene within 24 hours if a veto blocks Security Council action and to establish a peace observation commission to monitor international tensions.
