Local and Area Seat belt Campaign Honored by Agencies
Local police departments Brunswick Fort Detrick Maryland State Police Barracks B and Frederick Police Department were honored for their two month Maryland Cet's Challenge efforts to educate about seat belt use. They conducted campaigns and checkpoints, issuing 325 citations in Brunswick, 362 by State Police, and 300 warnings early on. Frederick surveys showed 82 to 86 percent compliance. overall improvements included child safety seat inspections and public reminders.
