Ground broken for Gov Thomas Johnson Middle School
Officials break ground in Frederick for a 25 acre Gov Thomas Johnson Middle School to open in September 2000. The 122372 square foot building will host 900 students in 29 classrooms, six labs, two art studios, three music rooms, a computer lab and theater spaces. The design groups students into six houses to foster smaller learning communities within the big school.
