Fire damages townhouse on Dockside Drive in Frederick

A Saturday morning blaze at a two story townhouse 1505 Dockside Drive Frederick caused about 30000 dollars in damage. Diana Grimes reported the fire at 10 19 am after a smoke detector activated. Fire marshals say the origin was the basement laundry area near a clothes dryer and the incident is under investigation. The home is uninhabitable and the occupants are being helped by relatives. Fire crews from Junior Independent Citizens United Fire Companies controlled the fire within 20 minutes, limiting flames to the laundry area but smoke damaged the entire residence.

Man killed when ATV flips over near Frostburg
