Alzheimer's group to receive federal funds boost in Maryland
The Alzheimer's Association Frederick County Western Maryland Chapter will receive 104,476 in federal funds on December 14 doubling the coming year's spending. Of the total, 62,976 will reimburse respite care for families, including in-home and adult day care, with grants supporting caregiver relief and burnout prevention. The remainder funds education for clergy and professionals and covers a coordinator salary of 21,000 yearly. The chapter budget runs about 90,000 with 10 percent admin costs, and a new paid coordinator role begins December 14.
