Death of Alden B Summers Sr. ends long Frederick life
Alden B Summers Sr. died Saturday at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 76, native of Frederick, survived by wife Frances, a son Alden B Summers Jr., a daughter-in-law Wanda, sister Marguerite Wilt, and four grandchildren with several great grandchildren. Summers, a 1933 Everedy employee, earned an Army Navy Award during WWII and retired as traffic manager in 1977. He was active in Civitan, formed the Junior Civitan Club in 1957, supported Special Olympics, and helped found Frederick Little League and the Babe Ruth League. Services at Keeney Basford Funeral Home pending.
