Christian radio station proposal faces FCC decision
Elijah Broadcasting plans a large Christian radio service from Mount Pheasant area with antennas on a farm near Walkersville. The stake includes a studio site, potential broadcast reach from Baltimore to Hagerstown, and a pre hearing set for June 30 with hearings likely delayed. Elijah Broadcasting LLC, formed four years ago, says the plan fills a local void and would offer religious teachings, sports updates, weather, and public service announcements from 6 am to sundown.

Accidents drive $1.5 million in Maryland civil suits
Seven Frederick County Circuit Court filings total more than $1.5 million in injury claims. Plaintiffs include Cynthia Barkdoll seeking $500,000 from Edward Staley after a July 1 1984 ATV crash on a farm, and Ronald Stull suing Stephen Hutts and the Thayer estate for $100,000 after an April 17 1983 collision. Other suits name Georgia Avenue crashes, a Point of Rocks Lander roads wreck, a Harmony Ellerton trash truck collision, and a rear end on Opossomtown Pike with damages ranging up to $200,000.
