Deadliest U S bus crash in six years near Reno
A bus carrying Santa Monica retirement home residents plunged into Walker River near Reno Nevada after leaving a casino road embankment killing 18 and injuring 22. The operator Starline Sightseeing Tours says driver Ernest A Klimeck 44 had no prior crashes though reports mention speeding convictions. Rescue teams recovered bodies as the river carried victims downstream and survivors were hospitalized in multiple hospitals with several in critical condition.
