Family seeks over $1 million in Boonsboro fatal motorcycle case
The family of Stanley Kadwed Jr of Boonsboro files a multi count civil suit in Frederick County Circuit Court seeking more than $1 million in damages from Malinda Regina Allen of Frederick for a left turn that allegedly caused Kadwed’s motorcycle crash near the Washington National Pike on Aug 2. The suit names heirs including Bonnie Harbaugh and several Kidwell children among others. Legal representation is Nakurk, Nuark & Nakirk of Frederick and Day & Schneider of Hagerstown.

Heart Association honors Frederick volunteers at recognition dinner
The Frederick Carroll Chapter of the American Heart Association held a volunteer recognition dinner at Bullen Market. Recipients included Bill Ruehl for Skate-for-Heart fundraising, Ed Lehmann for support of Taste of Frederick and 12 participating area restaurants, local school boards for Jump Rope for Heart, Z104 and the Frederick Jaycees for Skate-for-Heart co chairing, and Banner School and Maryland School for the Deaf for Jump Rope participation. The Commission on Aging will distribute surplus foods such as butter cheese honey dry milk flour cornmeal and rice to those with valid medical assistance food stamps energy assistance SSI or income under 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. At a Gay Nineties Tea on May 22 at Asbury Home in Gaithersburg civic staff and residents celebrated 25 residents aged 90 or more, about 12 percent of the home’s population. Carnations were given, poems read, and the Federal City Four provided music.
