Wallace Sends Message At West Virginia Rally

Wallace supporters in Charleston waited three hours as 1000 gathered for a West Virginia stop and heard a long distance call from Flint, Michigan. He urged opposition to busing tax increases and foreign aid, criticized amnesty for draft dodgers, and accused Humphrey and McGovern of copying his platform. The crowd learned only then that he would skip the Wallace stop and speak by telephone. Two supporters were arrested after a poster denouncing him was destroyed. Humphrey remains his opponent on the Democratic primary ballot.
