Damascus Man Charged With Daughter's Murder
A 33 year old plumber was arrested and charged with the murder of his nine year old daughter Donna Anne Stern. The child died at Suburban Hospital from burns and bruises after a pattern of mistreatment. Walter T. Stern Jr. is held without bond at the County Detention Center. The family home is on Purdum Road near Cedar Grove. Police say investigations indicate abuse over a period leading to death.

Teacher Killed On I-70 Near Boonsboro
A school teacher died in an early morning crash on I-70 east of Beaver Creek Washington County when his small foreign car struck the rear of a tractor trailer.
