Kluttz Receives Delaplaine Award At Key Inn

James Kluttz president of Frederick Memorial Hospital since 1980 received the Fred erick County George B. Delaplaine Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award from the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts at the Francis Scott Key Holiday Inn. The third annual award honors service to the community and scouting. A fund drive raised over 43000 for Frederick County Boy Scout programs as 79 troops exist locally.

Inconsiderate parking by FMH staff angers Frederick locals

Frederick Memorial Hospital employees are blamed for occupying residential parking near the hospital. Residents Norman Fogle and Robert Vaughn told the city street and sanitation committee that staff often use street spaces instead of hospital lots. They proposed a residential permit plan with annual fees, while hospital spokesman Ken Coffey said there is no legal basis to bar employees from street spots and that efforts to steer staff to decks have continued.
