Prisoner Returns to Howard County Jail After Escape
Howard County authorities said a prisoner who escaped Sunday noon from the Howard County jail returned there late Sunday night with his brother in law from Baltimore. The escapeee Robert H. Calvert 26 also known as Robert H. Deitz faced parole violation charges and was linked to a January robbery on the Washington Baltimore boulevard. Maryland and nearby states were asked to aid in his capture. officials did not explain the motive for the return. A separate report notes Mt Airy farmer Lewis Howard Stull 47 jailed on a drunk driving charge after a 5 am arrest. Nine others faced minor peace disturbances during the weekend.

In Hagerstown on June 12 about 2,000 workers and town officials attended a plant airport ceremony honoring Boutelle, former general manager of We Fairchild Aircraft. He received a plaque for his service. he is a vice president and director and joined a stockholders committee opposing the current board led by J Carl ton Ward, who was said to have relieved Boutelle. Also on the slate are Sherman M. Fairchild and Warren R. Smith.

Auto Wrecked in Route 77 Crash Near Thurmont
Earl Richard Pryor a 22 year old from Waynesboro escaped with minor injuries after his 1948 Oldsmobile left Route 77 five miles west of Thurmont. He was pinned in wreckage for 45 minutes and rescued by a passing tractor trailer aided by state troopers. Pryor, unconscious at first, was hospitalized in Hagerstown with lacerations and a minor foot injury. No charges filed pending investigation. Also notes Damascus High School Junior-Senior prom held June 3 with George Everly Orchestra and a grand march.

Baby Born In Plane Over California
A seven pound baby boy was born 6 000 feet in the air aboard a C 47 over California with Army Navy and Air Force cooperation. Parents are Mrs Jean Fisch and Staff Sgt Barney Fisch of Muroc Air Force base. The plane diverted to Long Beach Naval Hospital where the infant was placed in an incubator. Mrs Fisch reported this was her first unusual flight birth.
