No Stand By War Powers To Be Asked
Washington June 12 The Administration revises peacetime planning for possible future war and will not seek early enactment of stand by war powers. NSRB undergoes demilitarization with about 100 leaving from 400. The 20 point War Powers draft never reached Congress as Truman deemed peacetime passage inappropriate. NSRB focuses on keeping the bill ready while slowing ghost orders to industry usage, limiting phantom orders to essential bottlenecks like bearings motors and cutting tools.
