Collision on Elbe sinks excursion steamer Primus
A collision between the Primus and the Hamburg America tug Hansa on the Elbe early yesterday left between 60 and 90 lives gone, with 75 rescued by other craft. The Primus carried 186 passengers on a trip from Buxtehude, and panic and boiler explosions accompanied the disaster as passengers scrambled into the river.
