County lowers dump for free limit at Reich's Ford Road landfill
Commissioners on Thursday moved to cut the free dumping limit from one ton to half a ton at Reich's Ford Road landfill. Workers say few haulers tried to game the old rule by multiple trips with under ton loads. The county currently charges 18 dollars per ton for larger dumps and will seek a public hearing before final approval. Authorities aim to curb abuse without burdening residents with small loads, while reviewing fees and potential new operating costs.
