Frederick County to seek 10.8 million boost in 1993 budget

Frederick County School Superintendent Noel T Farmer Jr presented a 1993 budget plan totaling 142.2 million with a 10.8 million increase, citing growth of 955 students this fall and 8,000 anticipated over ten years. The proposal adds 72 teaching posts and 12 special ed roles, funds Twin Ridge Elementary, and launches a pilot school health service in feeder areas.

Linganore water plant talks near compromise over lake use

Frederick County and the Linganore Lake Association edge toward a compromise on a new Linganore Linganore water treatment plant that would draw water from The Lake Linganore while keeping recreation. The plan includes a redesign of the 2 million gallon per day intake and a possible surcharge to fund dam maintenance.
