Thurmont pleads for school relief and redistricting
About 125 residents attended the Thurmont town meeting at Catoctin High School during Frederick County’s 250th anniversary events. Commissioners funded a first $498,000 step of a $10.3 million plan to expand Catoctin High School gym and add classrooms, aiming for state aid later. They urged residents to contact lawmakers for more taxing authority, and discussed need for a new Thurmont library and broader economic development.
