Judge Sends Doctor Back Behind Bars

Prison escapee tied to Frederick bank robberies

A 32 year old Pennsylvania escapee, Edward Thomas Brown, captured on video in Frederick, is suspected in three Frederick armed robberies and sought for two more in Raleigh North Carolina and Hopewell Virginia. He fled after July 29 1997, serving 16 to 32 years for robbery burglary and attempted homicide. He has appeared on Americas Most Wanted three times.

Bertha Grove, Hood College alumna, dies at 89

Bertha Grove Nixdorff Grove 89 of 1616 Rock Creek Drive Frederick died Wednesday January 14 at home. She was born November 29, 1908 in Baltimore to Frank and Bertha Greeneisen Nixdorf. A 1929 Hood College graduate she supported the college for years including serving as Alumnae Association president.
