Frederick Memorial to move dialysis unit to medical center

Frederick Memorial Hospital will relocate its chronic renal dialysis center to the Thomas Johnson Medical Center on Thomas Johnson Drive this summer. The unit will expand from nine to 24 stations, serving up to 144 patients with a 4,479 square foot condominium. 15 current staff will grow with patient demand. Dr. Mark Rubin serves as medical director. Morgan Keller Inc handles interiors. John Samuel Williams is architect. WEDGCO Engineering is the long-time project engineer.

Pleasant Plains DAR chapter marks busy year in Damascus

Pleasant Plains of Damascus Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, led by regent Cecile King-Jones, celebrated Columbus's discovery anniversary, visited Hickory Bridge Farm, discussed defense topics, held a Christmas luncheon, shared genealogy treasures, welcomed new member Catherine Garney, and planned spring activities including March honors for the American History Essay Contest with eighty essays received.
