Man murders wife then kills himself in Gaithersburg
A 46-year-old man shot and killed his wife Jeanne Johnston at their Beaver Ridge Road home and then killed himself three hours later. Montgomery County police said the estranged husband Stephen Stanko of Pittsburgh fired a rifle from the porch, injuring Johnston before police returned fire and found him dead after tear gas was deployed. Johnston died at Shady Grove Hospital.
