Rotorex workers returned after a 12 hour evacuation prompted by a carbon monoxide incident. Six employees were hospitalized earlier, with one seeking care independently. Fire officials reported a meter reading showing flammable gas, though current tests found no remaining gas. The cause of the leak remains under investigation.
A Maryland safety official said Rotorex workers were exposed to impure air in the past due to ventilation issues. The cases are old and records are incomplete. the agency has asked for improved ventilation in the affected area and noted past inspections found no standard violations.
Leslie Grimm Lehmann, the first female deputy in Frederick County Sheriff’s patrol, settled a sexual harassment suit for 35000 against the department and Capt Howard Whims. The deputy said the payout, arranged to avoid trial costs, does not admit liability and aims to encourage other women to join without fear.
