Two Wounded In Gunplay Near New Windsor
Two youths were wounded by shotgun fire during an incident at a New Windsor area home. Paul Alvin Welch, 32, was jailed in Frederick County on an assault with intent to kill charge with a $5,000 bond. Alvin Wayne Nail, 17, and Donald J. Petry were hospitalized for shotgun injuries. Welch reported seeing someone at his window and fired twice as the suspects fled. Welch was also hit. Police noted all involved are from the same community. locations and motives remain unclear. Sara E. Fetter of the Maryland State Health Department was granted a year leave to direct a nurse midwife training program at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
