POW List Released as Enemies Report American Prisoners
Defense Department began releasing names of Americans held as prisoners in Korea warning the list is enemy-supplied and may lack accuracy. First name listed is Maj. John Daujat, with next of kin Mrs Leona Daujat of San Pablo California, as the effort proceeds in installments over 48 hours amid skepticism of the data.

Future Strategy Is Talked By Ridgway
General Matthew Ridgway coordinated both military forces and truce delegations in Korea on future strategy in the event of an armistice. No decisions were disclosed, but Ridgway said military and truce delegations were in complete accord after the talks at Munsan-ni. He then flew to Tokyo to confer with Gen James A. Van Fleet and Vice Admiral C Turner Joy. Simultaneously, prisoner lists were exchanged at Panmunjom between Communist and U N delegates, seen as progress in the prisoner exchange issue.

Twilight phase of ground war and RFC closes regional offices
The war’s twilight phase shows no major action on eastern or western fronts as Ridgway meets his armistice team ahead of a December 27 deadline for a provisional buffer zone. If no overall accord is reached, the demarcation line may shift before final armistice signing. Washington reports the Reconstruction Finance Corp will close its Washington and Baltimore offices January 15, reallocating staff to Richmond and other assignments.
