Mahoney Seeks Ballot Review In Maryland Court Ruling

Maryland Court of Appeals opens the door for Mahoney to challenge 530 Queen Annes and 220 Talbot ballots in his bid for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. The decision delays Byrd’s nomination while a lower court must hear merits and findings of fact on ballot validity and board discretion. Byrd’s unit vote lead could be overturned if Mahoney wins a recheck, tying the race and possibly denying Byrd the nomination.
