New Jersey Gangsters In Battle over Mob Vacancies
Jailing of New Jersey’s top gangland figures has sparked a gang war over power vacuums in Hudson County and nearby areas. Four mobsters have been murdered, with a fifth missing, as New York underworld figures allegedly seek to fill the void. Names like Gerardo Catena, Sam the Plumber DeCavalcante, and Joe Bayonne are noted, along with the latest victim William Pischedda found in Rutherford. The unrest follows high-profile racketeering and extortion cases and involves payoffs to local officials aiding gambling operations.
