Seton Center Joins United Givers Fund in Frederick County

Fort Detrick Transfers Are Blocked
U S Senator Beall says transfers of 61 civilians and 30 military personnel from Fort Detrick to Edgewood Arsenal and Dugway Proving Grounds Utah are postponed for now. Armed Forces Day activities planned at Fort Detrick
Fort Detrick will celebrate Armed Forces Day on Wednesday May 12 at the grid area off Montevue Lane starting at 1 p.m. Public attendees can view exhibits and watch performances by the Naval Drill Team from Bainbridge the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps from Fort Meade and the U S Army Parachute Team the Golden Knights from Fort Bragg North Carolina. Exhibits include a MARS Van a teletype demonstration a closed circuit TV system and radio operator procedures plus a world wide Army communications display. Western Union joins the center to show communications from early key sounders and tickers to modern computerized switching. The U S Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases will present a slide show on their VEE vaccine and vaccine deployment to Central American countries. Navy time and frequency displays explain satellite communications and pollution combat steps. A Catamaran ship model is featured.
