Sleep time blood pressure drops tied to eye damage risk
Universal City eye experts warn that taking high blood pressure medicine at night may cause sudden vision loss in some patients or worsen glaucoma. Dr Sohan Hayreh reports that sleep BP falls of 26 to 35 percent in those with optic nerve history, versus 7 to 18 percent in healthy individuals, risking optic nerve stroke or glaucoma progression.
