Bosnian Serb Assembly Rejects U N Peace Plan

The Bosnian Serb assembly voted 77 to 0 to reject a U N sponsored peace plan endorsed by Muslims and Croats. It calls for ceding more than one fifth of Bosnian Serb territory and a multi ethnic arrangement with three provinces and shared administration of Sarajevo. A May referendum was called for a final word on the plan as EC ministers backed away from possible military action.

Man arrested after high speed tri county gunfire chase

A 35 year old man with no fixed address faced a $4 million bond after a dramatic chase spanning Baltimore Carroll and Frederick counties. The suspect stole a Ford Mustang, fired at officers, collided with a Frederick County sheriff cruiser, fled to Waterside and briefly seized a bystander at gunpoint before dropping the weapon. Police say the pursuit reached speeds near 90 mph and involved about a dozen vehicles before the suspect was captured. The Maryland State Police Frederick barracks oversee the case.

11 Year Old Killed Riding Mower Crossing Road

An 11 year old riding mower operator died after a pickup struck his garden tractor while crossing the 4100 block of New Design Road in Buckeystown. The fatal collision occurred around 7 30 p m, with Paul Broberg 26, of Bamberg Court Frederick driving northbound crossing the center line and hitting the boy who later died at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Deputies First Class Sam Billotti and Rosario Benvengi continue the investigation.

Ranger Doney and animal associates visit Liberty Elementary

Ranger Richard Doney and assistant Jacquie Hull from Cunningham Falls State Park brought five animals for Scales and Tales to Liberty Elementary School. Students learned about wildlife diets and dangers from litter as raptors, a duck, and a mallard joined the program and highlighted conservation.

North Frederick wins state Odyssey of the Mind finals

An all girl North Frederick Elementary School team tied for first at the Odyssey of the Mind state finals in Catonsville earning a berth to the world finals at the University of Maryland June 3 4 and 5. The seven member team won the folk tales category and will face 56 teams from across the country and other regions.
