Limited Klamath Project Faces Uncertain Reincorporation
Washington notes serious questions about reactivating the Klamath irrigation project. About 90,000 acres were cut from the plan due to cost and soil issues, with potential completion at roughly 60 dollars per acre before further development of the region justifies further investment. The project originally aimed to reclaim about 160,000 acres but high lands and black alkali in lower lake units led to their removal from the scope.
