James W. Douglas born near Milwaukee Wisconsin died May 17 1913 at his Newberg Oregon home aged 72 He served in the 18th Wisconsin from 1862 to 1865 during the Civil War Married Mary A in 1866 and had six children including W W Douglas Frank Andrew and Mrs J B Hunt The family moved to Oregon about ten years ago He joined the Christian church in 1903 Funeral services were held at the church conducted by Rev George C Ritchey with assistants Rev S P Van Dyke and Rev Charlies O Whitely

Jeremiah O'Brien longtime Oregon farmer and resident of the county died Monday May 19 at his residence at Sherdan and Washington Streets. Born in Limerick Ireland April 15 1840 he came to America in the 1860s and settled in Oregon after brief stays in Connecticut. He leaves a wife daughters A Leary Catherina and Elizabeth and son John. Funeral was at St Peters Catholic Church with Rev J M Schraman officiating. Burial at Innville cemetery.
