The miners executive committee issued a statement after three days of talks and a delegate convention is planned May 12 to May 14 at Hazleton to decide on a general strike beginning Monday May 12 1902. Most workers are ordered to abstain from work around collieries starting Monday unless safer methods are arranged.

They covered Liberty to Lexington avenues and adjacent yards, testing temperature and collecting samples for bacteriological analysis. The operation aims to stop adulteration and ensure milk stays below 50 degrees F with results to be examined today. Mrs Gilbert Found Guilty In Police Favoritism Case
Mrs Mary G Gilbert of 116 East Eighty fourth street was convicted in Special Sessions before Justices Wyatt Mayer and McKean on charges of taking 400 dollars in marked bills from Conrad Schultz posing as Henry Schroeder to place him on the police force. Schultz testified that the money was needed to place him and noted it had funded a similar act in a prior case. The court sentenced Gilbert to sixty days in the city prison, rejecting the idea of precedent due to family illness and other factors. Her husband urged to serve her time.
