Ewes urged to silage water and exercise for better condition

County Agent B. L. Coleman advises three simple practices to improve breeding ewe condition. Feed succulence such as corn silage at 2.5 to 3 pounds per ewe daily. a bushel crate of silage for every 10 ewes provides the right amount. Ensure fresh water, about a gallon per ewe daily, and give ewes ample exercise by range grazing. If access to shelter exists, they will weather bad conditions. early lamb producers may skip grain until midwinter with ample silage and legume hay.
