City Manager Ken Ceretsky says Myrtle Point will conduct smoke testing of about 50,000 feet of sewer lines in the week of July 1926. A Portland firm will drop smoke into a manhole and seal adjacent manholes to reveal leaks and illegal roof connections.
Myrtle Point School District held its June 30 meeting after touring the Bobcat Construction House and Myrtle Crest track. The board approved the levy, named Avona Noyes chair and Clifford Fult assistant, seated R.T. Green, and thanked Harold Robison as he retired.
City Manager Ken Ceretsky won council approval to study cooperative buying for items including office supplies and gasoline. The plan partners with School District 41 and the Intermediate Education District, with local purchases kept at about half. A February start is planned to test savings before further steps.
The Rodeo of Rodeos Club hosts an amateur rodeo at the Coos County Fairgrounds with events from bareback to wild cow milking and wild horse race. Entries close July 8 with 90 plus participants last year and 107 after one day this year.
