Reverend Richard Cochran and his wife plan to leave Myrtle Point soon for Mosul Iraq. They expect to sail from New York around October 16 aboard the SS Marine Earp to Beirut then travel by air bus to Baghdad for language study before serving at Mosul. Their son Thomas James will accompany them, with the family shipping a car and some belongings. The term for the mission is five years with a one year US furlough after completion.

Chester Arthur Hansen 46 of Sithum died last Saturday when his car overturned in a ditch near Goshen Oregon. State police say he was alone. the vehicle registered to Neal Kyne Coquille. He is survived by his widow Myrtle Hansen, daughter Jacqueline Trendell Coquille, four stepchildren Barbara Betty Lou Beverly Ann and Perry Koorstz, and his father Ed Hansen plus siblings in Eureka California. Funeral services will be held this week at the Schroe Coquille Chapel.
