Jim Churchill a Myrtle Point senior in agriculture won District Number 1 farm mechanics contest sponsored by the Oregon Bankers Association and Future Farmers of America Foundation Inc. He earns 100 dollars and advances to District No 2 to represent Oregon FFA at the National Farm Mechanics contest in Kansas City next November. He operates the family home farm with his father and logs over 500 hours of custom tractor work yearly. He owns a Ford tractor set and equipment and maintains a busy farm shop with ongoing projects and repairs while serving as vice president of the local FFA chapter.
