Excursion to Bandon Planned by Johnson Mill Crew

The Johnson mill crew will take an excursion to Bandon this Saturday aboard the steamer Reta and Crescent bend with transfers to the steamer Dispatch at Coquille. A grand ball is set for Munck's hall tonight. J Diets, once a Myrtle Point boy, visits family in Amador County Calif. Water system progress brightens Myrtle Point outlook

Thirty years ago in August 86 1004 Mr Thos Garrin left for Oakland to visit relatives as Myrtle Point plans a new water system. Residents say the improvement removes a long held drawback and spurs faster local development while rails for Coos County seem likelier with Santa Fe and Southern Pacific talks ongoing.

August 21 1919 report of John Belion Coquille family narrowly escaping a ferry accident on the river with five year old, three year old, and four month old children. Mrs Beloni struggled to exit holding the infant as the car plunged off the ferry. father and older child escaped. Minor injuries reported for the family. Golf Tournament Planned For Aug 27 At Coquille Valley

An all-Coos county golf tournament will be held Sunday at 10 AM at the Coquille Valley Country Club. Theodore Clinton leads the event with committees Stewart Norton and Holland Bowers. About 16 prizes donated by Myrtle Point and Coquille merchants will be awarded for longest drive, best approaches, and other events. Players are divided into three classes by handicap: A from scratch to 10, B from 10 to 30, and C 20 and over.
