Corn reseal program revised in response to supply
The ASC county committee chaired by Vernon Carter says the planned reseal of 1968 crop corn and extension of 1967 crop warehouse loans have been canceled by the Secretary of Agriculture. About 53 million bushels of 1968 corn are under warehouse loan as carryover tightens. Farmers with 1968 warehouse stored loans have roughly two months to choose redeem or forfeit.

Provisions tightened for ASCS farm storage loans
US Department of Agriculture announced changes to the farm storage and drying equipment loan program. Vernon W. Carter says eligible farmers may still obtain on farm storage or drying capacity for a year’s production, with loans based on price support eligibility. Changes limit loan amounts, ban certain structures and items, end remodeling loans, tie storage needs to one year of production, raise interest rates, and remove a service fee.
