Juliette Low is the Illinois finalist in a federal study of individualized instruction sponsored by Oregon State University and the U S Office of Education. If chosen, the school would gain a substantial federal grant to train teachers and officials nationwide. A second program funded by the Danforth Foundation aims to profile five high schools and two junior highs as model schools, focusing on differentiated, modern instruction. District officials expect an announcement by March 1 and foresee significant training grants if Juliette Low is selected.
