Upgrading the Good Old Doc to Family Medicine
In the era of many medical specialties a movement grows to create family medicine as a formal specialty. A three year hospital residency would train general practitioners in pediatrics internal medicine obstetrics gynecology psychiatry and surgery to care for families from cradle to grave with on call availability.
