Mr and Mrs W Brophy returned from the southern part of the state bringing their niece Miss McCloud for a visit. Charlie Fish and family went to Midland last Sunday. Miss Beatrice Neclands of Pontiac visits her grandparents. Miss Eva Merrihew spends a week at home. Bert McKillip and Maurice Thorpe came home from Grand Rapids. Mrs Tygart and Mrs Stanton Quackenbush of Mt Pleasant visited Seaton last Wednesday. Barbara Thorpe visits sister Mrs Glen Smalley near Shepherd. Fred Campbell and Ben Kebauch drove to Toledo last Thursday and returned with the men for the weekend. Eddie Gale worked for Kirt Spickerman part of last week. Rev Ray L Holmes preached at the Methodist church and will preach there again next Sunday. Mrs Holmes hosted dinner at the Merriden home. Mrs McKillip was elected moderator at Monday night’s school meeting.

Keith Relison and Orville Walcutt joined the Hin ton calf club meeting at the grange hall Friday. Fred Peasley is adding to his barn. Guests at the Rolison and Walcutt homes included Gr and Rapids couple Mr. and Mrs Godbolt and many Greenville visitors.

Clare x senator and Mrs Doherty mark fifty years
The couple celebrated their golden anniversary quietly at home with only close relatives present. An electric flat iron left plugged in caused a fire that burned an ironing board and burned through the floor of the summer kitchen at L. W. Jackson residence, but no further damage occurred. Mr and Mrs Frank Thompson and family of Toledo were guests of the Fred Thompson family for the past week. At the annual school meeting on Monday evening B A Anderson was elected a trustee to succeed himself.
