Water shortage emergency grips Clare amid hot weather
Clare July 22 Special the city faces a water shortage due to heat as the river is diverted for emergency needs. A 2 year old boy son of Mr and Mrs E R M Austin grocer Lake George was bitten on the right hand by a dog owned by J Sabin. The dog attacked a horse after the bite. The boy was taken to Ann Arbor and the sheriff ordered the dog killed and its head and spine sent to the Pasteur Institute for examination. The prosecutor plans a resort dog quarantine and may extend it countywide.

Funeral services for W B Wells 81 longtime editor of Michigan Daily Call and Greenville Independent come Sunday after his death Thursday. He edited Daily Call nearly fifty years retiring after consolidation into Independent Daily News in 1924 and remained honorary editor until death. Wells never missed a day at the office in his entire editorship beginning June 18 1879.
