E J Van Leuven vice president of Isabella County State Bank has been chosen treasurer of the Federal Land Bank of St Paul succeeding Paul A Preus who resigned for health reasons. He will retain his Mt Pleasant post and not move. The St Paul bank heads the seventh district farm loan system with 125 million out on loans and 650 farm loan associations under its supervision in North Dakota Minnesota Wisconsin and Michigan.

Indian Camp at Monroe Homecoming Showcases Pottowatomie
Monroe Michigan July 1 United Press One principal feature of the historic Monroe homecoming and pageant was a Pottowatomie Indian camp presided by William Augusta Dowagiac. More than twenty Indians demonstrated baskets bows and beads and performed native dances and stories reflecting tribal history. Augusta a Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce member owns a five acre farm near town. The tribe counts about 300 Michigan families with 15 in Dowagiac and parts of the group reside in Kansas.

Son of Frank Render Drowns in Small Pond
Talmadge Earl Render eight year old, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Render of Sandusky, Ohio, drowned Wednesday afternoon after falling into an ice making pond on George Clemons farm at Shinrock. James Daniels Dies Suddenly at Home
James Daniels died Tuesday evening June 29 at his Gaylord street home after a brief illness. Born April 5 1882 in Isabella county he was about 44. Survived by wife and children. Funeral at Sacred Heart church Friday at 8 30 in the morning, with Mr. McCann in charge. Burial in Riverside cemetery.

Lower Gas Rates Beginning July 1
On July 1 1926 lower gas rates take effect after the City Commission granted Central Gas Company a new three year schedule. Plan to relay cornerstone of county courthouse
