Auto Crash Injures John Burch at Deerfield Center
John Burch aged 19 son of Luman Burch suffered severe injuries in an automobile crash near Deerfield Center last Friday. He sustained a broken nose and deep cuts requiring about thirty stitches and arterial bleeding. Three other youths in the car with him escaped serious harm. The collision occurred when a Dittmann car was struck head on by a third car driven by Henry Yonkers.

Former Local Man Killed by Switch Engine in Lansing
Albert Sampson 87, Lansing resident and member of Sampson & Holland contracting firm, was fatally struck Monday morning at the union depot while removing a concrete form between rails. He was hit by a switch engine after a freight train approached. moved 200 feet before being freed.

Former Local Resident Killed in Accident
James Clyde Walton of Lansing, a veteran Central Michigan Gravel Company worker, died after gravel slides trapped him in twenty feet of water. His body was recovered after a six hour search. Walton, born January 23 1886 in Willow Springs Kansas, married Jessie Mercer Beaverton Michigan May 38 1914 and left two children Arlene and Gale along with his widow, parents, and four brothers.

Fair Grounds Ready for Big Time Isabella County Fair
Island Park grounds are prepared for the Isabella County Fair August 24 28 following a Tuesday cleanup. About thirty volunteers repaired and cleaned up the grounds. Pavement On M-46 To Be Opened
