Friday night at 8 p.m. the fall Triangle Football Jamboree will be held in Umatilla with Eustis Mount Dora Tavares and Umatilla. Quarter pairings place Eustis vs Mount Dora Tavares vs Umatilla Mount Dora vs Tavares and Eustis vs Umatilla. The Umatilla athletic dept. expects seating for about 2500 with east stands for Tavares Mount Dora and west stands for Umatilla Eustis.

Meet The Canes Night At Mount Dora High School
Mount Dora High School hosts Meet The Canes Night on Thursday at 7 30 p m in the gym. The event previews the upcoming season with returning athletes from Mid Lakes Conference and District 10 champions across football basketball baseball and other teams. Coaches and cheerleaders from all sports attend as Hurricane teams seek continued success after last year’s All Sports Trophy win.

Labor Day Scramble crowns tied winners amid stormy heat
Thirty foursomes teed off despite hot weather and looming storms, with a best ball 58 and a 65 high for a seven stroke spread. Two teams tied for first, split 1st and 2nd, while Hank Dinter fired a 71 and then 470. Ladies Day mixed front nine handicaps, Class A to D prizes awarded, and players like Ann Merchant and Bitsy Schaffer return after travels.

September brings lovebugs and autumn plans as Mount Dora dominates the Round Robin with a 10 to 5 record. Rohm McClain from Mount Dora were second high race winners in the playoff. Six courts played Tuesday and four on Friday in Red and Black. Thursday bingo drew a crowd and an ice cream social celebrated Mike Conley. Messages of cheer went to Life Member Frank Bloom in hospital. Wally Henning leaves for Wisconsin after years on Red and Black nights. Cora and Al McConnell report visits up east. The group encourages kindness and good spirits.

Pistol Range Open House Planned in Mount Dora

Physical fitness class opens for adults at MDHS gym
