Church seeks sale of Tremain Street property in Mount Dora
Representatives of the First Baptist Church asked Mount Dora City Council’s Zoning and Planning Committee about selling the church property on Tremain Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Developers are eyeing converting the four story Education Building into a hotel or apartments while debate continues on whether renovation falls under a moratorium on multi family housing. The property, adjacent to City Hall, was appraised at 150000 dollars a year ago with hotel use noted as best. sanctuary would be removed for extra parking.
