The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union will gather at the home of Miss Charlotte Fitch at 207 Eighth Avenue on Monday June 2 at 3 PM. All members and friends are warmly invited to attend.
Members of the Eastern Star hold a Benefit Bridge in the social rooms of the Community Hall on Tuesday evening June 3 at 8 o'clock. Tables for bridge and five hundred will be available and everyone is invited. Admission is fifty cents.
Mount Dora High School Alumni station will host its annual banquet at the Villa Dora Hotel Saturday evening. After dinner the young people move to the Lake County Country Club for a public subscription dance with music by Lee S Forbes and his Carolina Aces from Ocala. Subscription is 1.50 dollars.
The King's Daughters held a regular meeting at Miss Hendrie's Ninth Avenue home hosted by Mrs. Harold Overhiser and Miss Nancy Stuart. Attendance remained strong through summer and planning focused on welfare work for needy families. A Saturday food sale raised 33 toward the circle's 100 pledge, with D F Gorham promising another 100 once met.
