East Town Branch Library Celebrates Sixth Birthday
The East Town Branch of Mount Dora Public Library marks its sixth anniversary since opening in March 1965. Under head librarian Mary Burr and Library Board leadership, the branch began in the Youth Center with a 600 volume collection now expanded to over 1600. Daily hours are 4 to 6 pm weekdays and 10 am to noon Saturdays, with Mrs. Jimmy Lee Bell supervising.

Mount Dora High School placed second in a four school meet on Wednesday behind Eustis 80 to 75 4 points difference. Hurricanes Jeff Fowler won the 440 dash Robert Peterson won the low hurdles and Gene McCall cleared 6 10 in the high jump tying the school record. Coach Poole noted sickness reduced the lineup and praised the team spirit and dedication ahead of the Grove Land Invitational.
