Mount Dora 1874 Origins Highlighted by Library Group
The Mount Dora Friends of the Library held its first annual meeting at Hartridge Hall on March 3 with President Mrs. Ralph W. Harbert presiding. Abby Jo Land of the Historical Society spoke on Mount Dora’s beginnings, citing early homesteaders, the rail line arrival in 1886, and the town’s growth from orange groves to a developing community.
